David studied jazz guitar at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, Berklee College of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag. He played and toured with various ensembles and orchestras in Luxembourg, Europe, the USA and Asia and is currently a professor for jazz studies at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg. As a composer and bandleader, David has released three albums for the Waltzing-Parke Records label, the latest of which, ‘Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Band’ with the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg, has won the 2010 International Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category. He currently is a member of renowned trumpeter Gast Waltzing’s band Largo and has had the opportunity to share the stage with the Orchestre Philharmonique Luxembourg and the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg (both conducted by Gast Waltzing), accompanying soloists such as Didier Lockwood, George Duke, Paquito d’Rivera, New York Voices, Patti Austin, Manu Katché, Rhoda Scott, Randy Brecker and Richard Bona. As a composer and arranger, David has had the chance to contribute compositions and arrangements for the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg, the Orchestre Philharmonique Luxembourg, Angélique Kidjo and Richard Bona. Recently, David Laborier has had the opportunity of sharing the stage with Angélique Kidjo and Gast Waltzing, performing Waltzing’s and his own arrangements from Kidjo’s Grammy-winning album ‘Sings’.
