This album includes some of her favorite compositions. Rarely, if ever, played by children, the Ballades Op. 10 by Johannes Brahms are maybe the most fascinating choice for a 14-year-old girl’s debut. The ‘Edward’ Ballad was part of her second year exams at the Queen Elisabeth Orchestra in 2014, when she was only 11. Completing the record, Franz Liszt’s Ballade No. 2 and a more intimate and modern composition, ‘Crystal Dream’, written by Luxembourgish composer Albena Petrovic-Vratchanska for Zala herself when she was 11.
