On the 11th of December, during the annual music:LX press conference, the Export Artist Of The Year nominees were announced. Here are the nominees again for the Classical/Contemporary category in case you missed them: Jean Muller, Christoph Sietzen, Zala Kravos.
In our category for Classical/Contemporary, music:LX is happy to award Christoph Sietzen with this year’s Export Artist Of The Year Award. Since the beginning of this year Sietzen has racked up well over 40 concerts, having played all over Europe. Moreover, the Austrian-Luxembourgish artist has released the disc 'Incantations' on Sony, which features percussion concertos of Finnish composer Einojuhani Ruatvaara and Israeli composer Avner Dorman, recorded with Romanian National Symphony Orchestra.
'Incantations' has been praised by the international press and received a nomination by the ICMA (International Classical Music Awards).
Moreover, Christoph was nominated 'Rising star' of the ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) by the Luxembourg Philharmonie for the season 2017/18 and had the occasion to tour in some the most important concert halls in Europe. Among them the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Barbican Centre in London, the Bozar in Bruxelles, the Philharmonie in Paris and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Last but not least, Sietzen was awarded 'Young artist of the year' 2018 by the ICMA and was signed by the management agency Opus 3 Berlin.
The Export Artist Of the Year awards were presented at the first edition of the Luxembourg Music Awards, organised by the Rockhal.
