Sabine Weyer has a busy agenda ahead of her. At the end of July she begins a 5 day teaching program at the Scriabin Summer Piano Academy in Grosseto, Italy.
The coastal city of Ortona is well-known amongst musicians since is the birth-town of celebrated composer Francesco Paolo Tosti, along with his less-celebrated nephew, composer Guido Albanese. The two musical institutions named after these two composers (i.e., “Istituto Nazionale Tostiano” and “Amici Della Musica—Guido Albanese”) have organised for two decades the “Passeggiata Musicale”, that lately changed name to “Music Day-Carlo Sanvitale”, in honour to the first president deceased some years ago: a festival composed of many musical activities in the whole city, starting at the dawn with a concert by the seaside, and ending with a brass exhibition in the medieval setting of the old-city.
This year, the “Music Day” has chosen Luxembourgish pianist Sabine Weyer to open up the festival, with a concert directly by the sea, performed at 6PM. The pianist will present her last CD, along with compositions by Chopin, Haydn, Bach.
