When the most free and recognizable bass-clarinet player in Europe, Michel Pilz, teams up with the most unclassifiable and talented drummer from the Luxembourgish scene, Benoit Martiny, what kind of music do you think they will produce?
On September 15th, the duo Pilz-Martiny will release an unexpected album titled De Gudde Wëllen on the Belgian label Badass Yogi Productions, recorded live in the famous Luxembourgish bar with the same name ‘De Gudde Wëllen’.
Pilz-Martiny present free Jazz in the best meaning of the phrase. Their compositions remain elegant, modest and conscious of their deep roots.
In December, a vinyl will complete the project, released the same date as an exceptional release party at opderschmelz, Dudelange (LU). For this occasion, the duo will welcome special guests on stage including Japanese trumpeter Itaru Oki and the Luxembourgish visual artist Steve Kaspar, known for his audiovisual installations. They promise you a unique show!
