Borrowing the title from Robert Zemecki’s science fiction movie, Sabine Weyer says about Bach to the future that she ‘conceive(s) of J.S. Bach as a central figure, as a composer with profound influence on the course of music history through the prism of a number of transcriptions by other composers. These works surround Bach’s oeuvre like a series of future scenarios and guide the listener through a journey of discovery’.
Released on the German label ARS Produktion on November 1st, this album includes Bach’s French Suite no. 2 BMV 813 which forms the central part of this album’s musical journey, followed by Bach transcriptions from Busoni, Siloti and Saint-Saëns. Join Sabine Weyer for the official CD release concert at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg on December 2nd.
