4th edition of JazzPlaysEurope hosted in Luxembourg
JazzPlaysEurope-lab is ready for a 4th edition !
After presenting a best of jazzplayseurope at a packed concert hall Flagey in Brussels in January 2012 and bringing together at one memorable concert evening the 3 previous jazzplayseurope-labs with 20 musicians coming from 7 countries, we are ready for the 4th edition of this unique paneuropean musical blind – date!
The 4th edition is hosted by music:LX- Luxembourg Export Office. JazzPlaysEurope-Laboratory, is proud to welcome 7 outstanding talents, from 7 countries in Luxembourg - a place that some call a Hot Spot for Young-Jazz.
In an atmosphere of creativity that is packed with musical talent, the power and the will to generate a new and fresh sound – the musicians will rehearse for the 4th JazzPlaysEurope- Laboratory-Tour. Three days is the time–limit, the only limit that is set to the musicians, except the restriction, that after 72 hours they come up with a full concert program in the end.
So they can let their talent flow, they can discover new musical shorelines, improve their musical knowledge and experiment with new sounds, structures and methods of composing and improvisation and follow their artistic visions. Above all, however, they will present their concept of what European jazz could lead to.
7 European musicians will spend together 14 very intense days and travel throughout Europe and their 7 home countries.
A start has been made with jazzplayseurope, celebrating its 5th anniversary this year and already realised more than 20 transnational projects:
Overcoming boundaries, artists in movement, creating new networks – Europe, that’s us!
This year’s line-up will show once again the immense creativity of young European jazz artists at nine shows in seven countries.
