Creation and invention at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival
21st of November 2015 – Huddersfield
On November 21st, Lucilin will be performing at the renowned Hudderfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK) and will give a unique concert during the opening weekend. The programme features several UK premieres of works by composers such as Dai Fujikura, Edwin Hillier, Manuela Meier as well as the Luxembourgish composer Catherine Konz, but also the world premiere of a piece by Mauro Lanza commissioned by Lucilin and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. This original piece entitled « The Kempelen Machine », that will be conducted by David Reiland, revisits Wolfgang von Kempelen’s idea of a « speaking machine » as on stage soprano Donatienne Michel-Dansac will use a strange custom made instrument similar to the « speaking machine ».
