Francesco Tristano teams up with the Orchestre National de Lille for a series of unique concerts in early April
April will once again be a busy month for Luxembourgish artist Francesco Tristano. Shortly after collaborating to the project “The Art Room by Bombay Sapphire” at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, he will join the prestigious Orchestre National de Lille, under the baton of Venezuelan conductor Domingo Hindoyan. It will be a round of three concerts (two in Lille on April 6th and on April 7th at the Auditorium du Nouveau Siècle and the last one in Dunkirk on April 8th at Bateau Feu).
Those performances will allow Tristano to perform as a soloist delving into major works from both North and South America. The programme will feature « Estancia » from Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera, « Sinfonia India » from Carlos Chávez, who found inspiration in traditional Indian tunes, and finally « Concert in F Major for piano and orchestra/ An American in Paris », Gershwin’s ode to New York jazz clubs.
With the Orchestre National de Lille, Tristano is getting involved into a project that resembles him, collecting influences in numerous works and emblematic places in order to gather them all in a perfect blend of jazz, classical and traditional music.
In addition to these three concerts Mr. Tristano will perform a solo recital (lunch concert) on April 8th at the Nouveau Siècle.
