After receiving recognition at the Grammys for his work on the album “Sings” with Angélique Kidjo and the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Mr. Waltzing will be conducting a series of concerts in China, Luxembourg, France and Czech Republic.
He is heading to China in April, where he will lead the People’s Liberation Army Band at the Military Music Concert Hall in Beijing, on April 8th. He will conclude the month with a concert in Shanghai, where he will conduct the famous JZ Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by trumpeter Li Xaochuan, for the Spring Edition of the JZ Festival Shanghai at the Shanghai Centre Theatre.
May will be equally filled with numerous events. Gast Waltzing will conduct Adriana Calcanhotto with the OPL at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg, on May 4th, and then lead Il Volo for a concert at the Rockhal on May 27th.
No rest in sight as though the very next day will see the release of a second album by the Orchestre National de Jazz du Luxembourg, produced and arranged by Gast Waltzing, on the label Waltzing Parke: “D’Pierle Vum Da”. This Waltzing-created orchestra will celebrate the release with a performance at Neimënster, where Mr. Waltzing will be conducting the ensemble.
During the summer, Gast Waltzing will have the pleasure of sharing the stage with Angélique Kidjo for two concerts: the first one in Luxembourg with the OPL, on June 21st and the second in Prague on July 14th, with the Prague Symphonic Orchestra. In between, he will conduct the Orchestre Régional Bayonne Côte Basque at the Gare du Midi in Biarritz, France, on July 9th.
