Francesco Tristano teaming up with Bach and 3D mapping
The fall means no rest for Francesco Tristano. On September 3rd, he will premiere a new project called Goldberg City Variations in Köthen, Germany during the Köthener Bachfesttage.
This project is the result of collaboration with sound engineer Edoardo Pietrogrande and visual-maker prodigy Federico Nitti and it aims at exploring the relationship between man, space and progress through music and visual elements. Bearing this in mind, Mr. Tristano decided to perform Bach’s Goldberg Variations and make it merge with the creation of a ‘Cosmic City’, rising up to the sky.
Bach’s masterpiece, composed of different styles including Danza, Toccata and Canone will be perfectly identifiable thanks to the images shot with 2D and 3D cameras. Each graphic element will be assigned to a single note, each variation patched singularly to make the experience the most immersive.
Later this month, Francesco will perform on the 17th in Chambéry (FR) at the Bel-Air Claviers festival, with a one-of-a-kind programme, featuring pieces for 1 to 6 pianos, and on the 24th and 25th in Warsaw (PL) with Ezra & Organic Orchestra during the La Folle Journée festival Polish edition.
