Named after the historical name of the country, "Lucilinburhuc", United Instruments of Lucilin was created by a group of passionate Luxembourgish musicians.
Over the years, the Ensemble has become a reference in contemporary music for the Grand Duchy.
Dedicated exclusively to the promotion, creation and commissioning of works of XX and XXI century (more than 600 works since 1999), Lucilin is recognized for its outstanding propositions.

The ensemble for contemporary music United Instruments of Lucilin was founded in 1999 by a group of passionate Luxembourgish musicians. Dedicated exclusively to the promotion, creation and commissioning of works of the 20th and 21st century (more than 600 works since 1999), United Instruments of Lucilin is recognized for its outstanding propositions in Luxembourg and around the world, encouraging the listeners to connect with music and its context.
The musicians aim to touch the audience not only by acoustic sensations, but also in an intellectual, spiritual and visual way: traditional concerts alternate with music theatre, light dramaturgy, scenic performance of compositions, children projects and introduction or live discussion with the composers.
United Instruments of Lucilin also commissions and premiere works by, among others, Luca Francesconi, Donnacha Dennehy, Jean-Luc Fafchamps, Marcel Reuter, Michael Riessler, Yan Maresz, Martin Matalon, CS Mahnkopf, Toshio Hosokawa, Mauro Lanza, Arturo Fuentes, Brice Pauset and Alexander Schubert. In 2017, United Instruments of Lucilin has presented Philippe Manoury's new chamber opera 'Kein Licht' at the Rurhtriennale, Musica Strasbourg, Opéra Comique, Théâtre National de Zagreb and Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg.
United Instruments of Lucilin gets new music out of its sterile corner and doesn't recoil from spectacularly actions, which are appreciated by an enthusiastic and constantly growing audience. The ensemble has been rewarded Export Artist Of The Year 2017 by music:LX.
