Michel Meis, who belongs to the new generation of Luxembourgish jazz musicians and who regularly proves his versatility and openness through numerous bands and projects, is more and more about to make his mark on the European jazz scene with his Michel Meis 4tet. Freedom and experimental improvisations meet straight compositions and introverted melodies as well as Fender Rhodes effects – these are the trademarks of a quartet that evolves from gig to gig and stands out with its own, very personal and unique musical identity.

: BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1989, Michel Meis belongs to the new generation of Luxembourgish jazz musicians. He studies jazz drums with Oliver Strauch and Georg Ruby at the Hochschule für Musik Saar (Saarbrücken, DE) and regularly proves his versatility and openness through numerous projects. Besides his own jazz project, the Michel Meis 4tet, he played for a long time with Dock in Absolute (pop/jazz) and currently plays with Everwaiting Serenade (melodic hardcore) the Hanriot Mehari Meis Trio (jazz/pop/electro). Meis played live in clubs and festivals in Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France, Ukraine, Romania, China and Japan. Michel Meis 4tet After years of style shaping and sound experiments, Michel Meis’s jazz quartet, composed of Michel Meis (drums and compositions), Alisa Klein (trombone), Cédric Hanriot (piano) and Stephan Goldbach (double bass), decided to go for a genre that can’t be labeled easily. Freedom and experimental improvisations meet straight compositions and introverted melodies as well as Fender Rhodes effects – these are the trademarks of a quartet that evolves from gig to gig. Multiple sources of inspiration as well as the four musicians’ broad musical background, ranging from jazz to electronic music to metal, offer countless stylistic possibilities that forge the Michel Meis 4tet’s very personal and unique musical identity. Their debut album 'Lost in Translation' is currently in production.
