"Sunset Motel" is titled after a fictitious place where Napoleon Gold takes refuge as he struggles with his life-long insomnia and the thoughts, desires, regrets and dreams that come late at night. The record is all about the inspiration that comes to him in the early hours of the morning.
“During my first years in Brussels for university, my insomnia became more and more frequent. I remember staying awake night after night, making music, watching the sunrise from my music desk. It had this beautiful orange and golden color. I knew seeing this color meant I had once again failed to sleep, but it also symbolized a new day, a new beginning. I decided to name that color ‘Napoleon Gold’."
Real name Antoine Honorez, Napoleon Gold previously dropped 2018’s "A New Colour" EP featuring T-Pain. An expert curator of collaborative talent, for his debut LP he’s produced vocalists like Haiva Ru, Anna Majidson, Madge, Jesus Honcho, PH Trigano and Raquel & Kimberly Tell – as well as fast risings rappers like Jalen Santony.
