The finals of the eighth National Cello Competition took place on October 31st during the last evening of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, a full online edition this year. This most exciting part of the Biennale was won by the talented Benjamin Kruithof!
“You are a complete player, you calmly approach each work with a refined touch and still with an extrovert stage presentation”, says jury chairman Sven Arne Tepl.
Benjamin Kruithof not only won the First Prize, but also the Audience Prize and the Prize for The Best Interpretation of the Commissioned Composition.
In addition to a financial reward, the First Prize winner also wins master classes at the prestigious Kronberg Academy, a Sena Performers debut CD, a cello case of Gewa and concerts in various venues in the Netherlands.
