Sabine Weyer will release her fifth solo album Mysteries through the German label Ars Produktion on January 8th!
In her forthcoming album, she gathered works by two composers from two different eras: the Russian composer Nikolai Miaskovsky, a friend of Prokofiev and colleague of Shostakovich, and French contemporary Nicolas Bacri. They wrote their sonatas in 1912-1920 for Miaskovsky and 2007-2011 for Bacri, almost one century apart. Sabine’s choice of linking them can be explained by the fact that Bacri’s third Sonata has been inspired by Miaskovsky’s third Sonata and was dedicated to his memory.
In February 2020, Sabine Weyer released a stunning video filmed in Moscow in which she relates the key moments in Nikolai Miaskovsky's life and explains her very own connection to his works. Watch it below!
Check Sabine's Facebook page on January 8th for a very special online celebration of the release.
If music halls are to open again, she will present her new album during a release concert on January 22nd at Tchaikovsky Saal in Hamburg (DE). Next stop in March: Paris!
